I also had to do some surgery to swap his arms out (sword and shield off, heavy wraithcannons on – including an “enjoyable” hour one afternoon spent rooting around in a bitz box trying to find all the parts). On the other hand, having a deadline to hold myself to would at least make me do it, whereas nothing in the four previous years I’d owned the thing had gotten me to get paint on the Wraithknight. what I want to paint, especially when the need is Eldar vehicle hulls and Wraithknight gems, neither of which are super interesting. I need a bit of a run-up to an event these days if I’m going to have everything painted, so 2 vehicles, a Knight, and an infantry squad to do in a single month wasn’t ideal – it’s not that big of a hobby lift, but in my limited available time I am very easily distracted from what I “need” to paint vs. Painting-wise, my main focus has been on the build-up to the Goonhammer Open – at the beginning of August I had 2 Fire Prisms, a Wraithknight, and 5 Rangers in my list but unpainted. I still need to play Drukhari in 10th to see how the index functions, and I’ll try and get them going soon – after that it gets a bit harder to vary things up because we’re into the realms of armies where I technically own 2,000pts+ but it’s very unbalanced or not all built/painted, so I’ll need to put some hobby work into them to get them on the table. Getting regular games in again has been great fun, and given me opportunities to try different things out and get them on the table. Adeptus Mechanicus: A much closer game than those preceding it, where Guilliman ate shit to an exploding Armiger Warglaive and I eventually slugged out a 90-85 win thanks to the Apothecary Biologis storming onto my opponent’s home objective with his OC9 activated to allow him to Capture Enemy Outpost Imperial Knights: In which an entire Knight army was introduced to prism cannons and heavy wraithcannons, with distressing results for the Knights Thousand Sons: In which Magnus the Red was introduced to Armiger Helverins and their ANTI-FLY 2+, with distressing results for the Traitor Chaos Space Marines: In which Abbadon and his retinue were introduced to Aggressors under Bolter Discipline/Storm of Fire, with distressing results for the Traitors

Meeting my commitment to play more of my armies in 10th than I ever did in 9th, I have broken out all of the Space Marines, Imperial Knights, and Aeldari over the last few weeks.

Since July I have played another 10 games, via the surprise move of stirring myself to find and attend a local gaming club, plus playing at the recent Goonhammer Open UK. That post was after 18 months or so of radio silence, so the fact I’ve managed to write another a mere six weeks later and immediately after a tournament, when it’s still vaguely relevant, is an unexpected blessing/curse for both regular readers. The only issues I see is the technical aspect of the ultimate.Last time I talked about the onset of 10th edition, my plans for the next 3 years of its presumed life, and my first 10th ed tournament at the Tacoma Open. Obviously this is just for fun, but I tried to make the ability kit something that I think could be fairly balanced in Apex. Has a sound cue that is generous enough for anyone paying attention to know its been used in the same building. Notes: Reaper is incredible in close range environments with buildings with his entire kit, and his ultimate is no exception as it's the ultimate way to break a teams grip on a building or to get immediate safety. ULTIMATE - Shadow Walker: Target a valid solid object and use the ult to instantly phase through to the other side. Basically a selfish ash ult that hurts you, but gives you a very short cooldown and unlike other teleport options is extremely reactive. Press tactical once to aim precise location, then use it. Notes: Has an audible distinct sound cue similar to the sound it makes in overwatch. Costs 35 standard health to use, 1.5s total animation time, 18 second cooldown. TACTICAL - Shadow Step: Reaper targets a location to teleport to, then instantly begins teleports to said location.

Reaper can do any action while standing on the soul. After 5 seconds of a soul existing, it will begin to shrink, losing 1 of it's health per second, making a souls max life 40 seconds. Notes: The soul can heal up to 35 health, at a rate of 5 hp/s. Standing inside the orb starts to regenerate Reapers health. PASSIVE - Soul Steal: Recently eliminated enemies leave behind a soul orb.
